Recognise any of these signs? Then an appointment is worthwhile.
Squealing, a soft pedal or pulling to one side under braking are signs you should not put off. We check pads, discs and brake fluid, tell you beforehand what is needed, and in many cases carry out the replacement the same day.
- Squealing or grinding when braking.
- The brake pedal feels soft or travels further than it used to.
- The vehicle pulls to one side when braking.
- The steering wheel or pedal vibrates when braking from higher speed.
- The brake warning light is on.
Process
How it works with us
So you know what you are getting into – before you book.
Inspection
We measure pad thickness and disc condition, and check brake lines, callipers and the water content of the brake fluid.
Quotation
Before any work you learn what has to be done and what has been noticed but can still wait. We only start once you have approved it.
Replacement
Pads and discs are replaced by axle, guides cleaned and greased, then the system is bled.
Test drive
Finally a test drive: the brakes must bite evenly and must not pull. New pads need the first few kilometres to bed in.

Im Großen und Ganzen ist das aufjedenfall die beste Werkstatt in ganz Kiel und Umgebung! Damals dort die Bremsen gemacht kurzfristig und schnell, innerhalb des gleichen Tages haben sie das ganze hinbekommen. Was mich nochmal deutlich überzeugt hat ; Gegen 23:30 ist mein Schlauch von dem Kühlmittel gerissen und ich habe mit den Gelben Engeln das Fahrzeug um 01:30 vor die Werkstatt gestellt. Um ca. 09:45 habe ich die Schlüssel Übergabe getan und die haben mein Fahrzeug noch am gleichen Tag fertig bekommen! Preis Leistung Top, ich kann es jedem empfehlen zu der Werkstatt zu gehen.
Kurzum: einfach Mega! Ich habe meinen BMW zur Reparatur in diese Werkstatt gebracht und es wurde nicht nur alles zu meiner vollsten Zufriedenheit repariert sondern auch noch ein bisschen mehr geleistet. When do brake pads need replacing?
When the friction material has worn down to about two to three millimetres. Many vehicles report this via a wear sensor, on others it shows up at the service. As a rule of thumb pads last between 30,000 and 60,000 kilometres — varying widely with driving style.
Do the discs always have to be replaced as well?
Not necessarily. What matters is the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer and whether the disc is scored or corroded. We measure and tell you the result.
Why are my brakes squealing?
Often it is dust and light surface rust after standing — this clears after a few applications. If the noise persists, the pads are usually worn out or the guides have seized. In that case have it checked.
How often does brake fluid need changing?
Usually every two years. Brake fluid draws water from the air, and as the water content rises the boiling point falls — under heavy use the brakes can then fade.
Can I still drive with faulty brakes?
We would advise against it. The brakes are the component that decides the outcome when it matters. Give us a call — with brake problems we try to fit you in at short notice.
