We change engine oil and oil filter using an oil that carries your manufacturer's approval — with modern engines the specification is not a detail but a requirement. In most cases the car is ready quickly enough for you to wait.
- The service display reports that the oil change is due.
- The last change was more than a year ago.
- The oil level on the dipstick is low, or the oil is jet black and thin.
- The oil warning light is on — in that case stop and do not drive on.

How it works with us
So you know what you are getting into – before you book.
Determine the right oil
We check which specification and viscosity your manufacturer prescribes. The wrong oil can do real damage in a modern engine with a particulate filter.
The change
Drain the old oil, renew the oil filter and sealing ring, fill with fresh oil and check the level.
Visual check
While the vehicle is on the lift anyway, we take a quick look at leaks, brakes and tyres. We tell you what we notice.
Reset the interval
The service display is reset and the change documented.

How often does engine oil need changing?
The specification comes from the manufacturer and is usually between 15,000 and 30,000 kilometres or once a year. Anyone doing a lot of short journeys should change earlier, because the oil is under greater strain.
Is the oil filter changed as well?
Yes, always. An old filter in fresh oil would defeat the purpose — the collected dirt goes straight back into circulation.
Can I bring my own oil?
That is possible, do mention it. What matters is that it carries the approval for your engine; otherwise we would advise against it.
How long does an oil change take?
Usually under an hour. Many customers wait in our waiting area until the car is ready.
What does the oil warning light mean?
If the red oil pressure light comes on while driving, the engine is losing oil pressure. Pull over, switch off the engine and call us — driving on can destroy the engine.
